• Registration for the competition and the submission of scores implies the unconditional acceptance of all conditions set forth herein.
• Austrian law applies.
• The mdw- University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna is entitled to perform all submitted compositions in public during the duration of the competition and the following Vienna Days of Contemporary Piano Music, to document them acoustically as well as visually and to use these documentations to announce the competition (including streaming). For this purpose the author grants mdw permission to use the work with regard to all necessary and useful exploitation rights. The musical works of the participants reproduced on these image and/or sound recordings may be reproduced, distributed, performed, combined with other types of works, broadcast and/or made available to the public in an unrestricted manner, provided and insofar as it is only a matter of the non-commercial use of these image and/or sound recordings in the factual and temporal context of the competition and the subsequent Vienna Days of Contemporary Piano Music.
• Should third parties assert copyright or similar claims against mdw as a result of the author’s participation, the author shall hold mdw harmless and indemnify mdw. If the author is a beneficiary of a collecting society, he/she is therefore obliged to create in advance, in cooperation with the collecting society responsible, if applicable, the necessary legal prerequisites for the granting of non-commercial licences in accordance with the competition regulations.
• Furthermore, those rights which are to be administered by collecting societies remain unaffected, in particular with regard to a possible long-term public availability on the mdw website. The composers’ moral rights remain with the composers.
• mdw assumes no liability for loss or damage to the transmitted files.
• Litigation is excluded as a possibility for settling disputes arising in connection with the competition, especially regarding decisions based on formal or artistic criteria.
• The English version is merely for the purpose of information the legally binding text is the German text.
